Whew-What a party!

After a great 1st year, it was time for our 1st birthday party...thanks to everyone's help it was just perfect. We were so lucky to have friends and family come to celebrate with us. With only one SHORT morning nap, Harper was the picture of a birthday girl and was walking in circles before the day was over.
A picture before my house looked like one of those cartoon houses with people overflowing...who knew that 27 adults and 14 kids would fill a house?!

All the food that no one could get to...next time we will have multiple tables so people can actually get to it.
Look at all these people who are here for you!
Erin and Sophia getting cozy.
Can we have cake yet?
I think Harper was more amazed by the flame than the cake. Not sure about this cake thing...
Round 2: I will eat the cake...but it still does not top Mac'N'Cheese.
Harper decided that a Mum Mum would be a better snack.
Faulkner and Houston having a little story time.
Look at this little peanut!
Stella trying out some new wheels.
My new cleaning crew...Ira and Stella.
Harper thought the twins carseat was for her new baby...she loved it!
Those Keating girls know how to be the life of the party.
Who doesn't love a pinata?
Is it wrong teaching your child to beat a friendly catepillar?

We brought in Mrs. Rob to show how it was done.
Batter up Houston!
The Little Gym crew getting their turn before the big kids move in...
Is that David Wright? Really, must just be another Met fan :)
Look at the booty!
Load up on sugar everyone!
We had so much fun...pinata's are good for any age!I felt so guilty I had to tell Harper that the catepillar was okay...we hugged him and made it all better.
GOTCHA!!!!!!!!!!!!
My dad and I watching the kids...
Two proud grandfathers.
Hunt and his dad. Harper and Sierra planning their escape...
Only Sierra made it. Man, she is quick on her toes!
Sophia working on her moves too...(its been so long since I posted - Sophia is now walking)These girls had a great time. Thanks to everyone for being a part of this great day. It couldn't have been better...Till next year.

Harper's first pampering...

We finally bit the bullet and decided to get Harper's first haircut. We only trusted this task for our favorite stylist...Kaci! She is the only one I would have let touch my little girls mullet.

( The below pictures are in reverse sequence so start at the bottom. )

Then, as we all predicted...she wanted more. Hunt better get ready...we might have a girlie-girl.
We are ALL-DONE. Our beauties.
A little more here.
A little snip here.
After being put in the arms of safety...we were okay again.
...and quickly it ended.
And the cutting began...
Harper was a little surprised after being dropped in mom's lap with this weird apron.

Harper's Introduction to Wrightsville Beach

Needless to say, Harper loved the beach. Maybe she just loved having the full attention of mom and dad for a week straight.

We finally got Harper to get up close and personal with the sand. We just did not expect it to be with her face.
Harper braves walking in the sand. She is getting really confident with this walking thing.

Ann Carter getting down and sandy with Harper. She is the first one to get Harper to explore the sand between her toes.
Ann Carter and Harper just lounging, listening to the waves.
Ann Carter and Harper looking for seashells, actually Harper was probably trying to eat them.
Our little crabbie! This is what happened before Ann Carter helped her explore the sand. The texture was just not right...
How can you not love this? These moments do not last long so you cherish them when they happen.
Just plain tuckered.
Looking at the world through rose colored glasses.
"Dad, I just need to lay my head down for a minute. "
"What is this?"
Harper and Poppa
Playing in the water on the sound.
Our furry little tugboat...he loves the water.
The whole family.
Harper and Kat
Even though she didn't like the sand, she loved the waves.
Harper and her dad picking the perfect wave to ride.
I guess they found the perfect one. Look at those legs!
What a pair!

Me and my girl.
Anyone remember the timeout scene in Ace Ventura 1?
Man, are we in trouble or what?
How do they get this cute?
Maille Rose and Harper were instant friends.
Maille had lots to teach Harper.
How cute is this little belly! (ok, maybe it's not that little.) Goofing off with her dad. Gee, where does she get it? Hmmmmm.
Harper and her suntan lotion styling. Here she comes...Ed Grimley.
Harper enjoying some playtime on the beach towel.

The kissing game

We have a "luv-bug". Her favorite object of affection is Watson sometimes he is a willing participant and sometimes not. We decided to show you just how loving she really is...even for the camera.
